Sunderland RCA are delighted to announce central defender Mason Burton as our third summer signing.
The experienced centre half joins RCA from Seaham Red Star where he wore the captain’s armband and led the side to a play-off finish in the EBAC Northern League Division Two last season.
Burton spent time at Washington where he was named Player & Supporters’ Player of the Season in 2023/24 before making the switch to Red Star.
Manager Mark Forrest was delighted to get the signing over the line, praising Burton’s influence on and off the pitch. He said:
“Mason is a wonderful addition to the group. A real leader who will be great in the changing room and will fit into our group seamlessly this season. As soon as I heard that he was avaialble, he immediately became a top target for us and we’re thrilled to get it done.”
