Sunderland RCA are thrilled to confirm the signing of attacking midfielder James McGeorge ahead of the 2026/27 season.
McGeorge featured 28 times and scored four goals last season as Seaham Red Star achieved a play-off finish in the EBAC Northern League Division Two.
The young midfielder is a South Shields academy graduate and earned a full-time contract with the now National League North outfit in 2023.
Loan spells at Whitley Bay and Ashington aided McGeorge’s development before a permanent move to Consett in 2024. Last season at Red Star saw McGeorge play in the middle and out wide, a versatility that will be of great use to RCA this campaign.
On joining the club, McGeorge said: “I can’t wait to get started, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club’s ambition. Everytime I’ve played here it’s never been a nice place to come, and all the lads I know here have said great things. I want to get forward, score goals, and hopefully achieve a good finish this season.”
McGeorge is the second arrival of the summer, following the return of Andre Bennett to the club. Manager Mark Forrest is pleased with the business he and the club have been able to do so far:
